Philip Levine

Former Mayor, City of Miami Beach

Philip Levine is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and the former two-term Mayor of Miami Beach.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Levine launched Onboard Media in 1990, a port-marketing firm for the cruise industry based in Miami Beach. He later co-founded Miami Cruiseline Services, which became the industry’s leading provider of on-board services such as duty-free retail, customized in-cabin publications, and art auctions. The company was successfully sold to LVMH.

In 2010, Levine was tapped by President Obama’s Secretary of Commerce to serve on a Task Force aimed at strengthening U.S. tourism. He founded Royal Media Partners in 2011, collaborating with Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Elected Mayor of Miami Beach in 2013 and re-elected in 2015, Levine spearheaded an ambitious series of solutions to combat sea level rise, including installing pumps and raising roads, now a model for cities around the world. He helped reform a broken police department, developed new public transportation options, and passed the first living minimum wage in the state of Florida.

In 2017, Levine was awarded the Officer in the Legion of Honour from the President of France for his extraordinary work on climate change. He ran for Governor of Florida in 2018 in a competitive five-way Democratic field, receiving the endorsement of the Miami Herald.

In 2022, Levine co-founded Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings, where he was the visionary behind the creation of Four Seasons Yachts, which is set to launch its first vessel in late 2025.  He sold his interest in the venture to existing shareholders in 2024.

Levine currently serves as CEO of Royal Media Partners. He is also a successful real estate developer who, along with business partner Scott Robins, has been credited with rejuvenating and recreating a unique neighborhood in Miami Beach called Sunset Harbor.

He is an active member of multiple local philanthropic organizations in South Florida, including Best Buddies International, a Miami-based nonprofit that creates opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Levine currently lives in Miami Beach with his wife, Carolina, and their four children.
