Miami Transportation FAQs
The Basics
What's the best way to get to Miami Stadium on match day?
The Miami Game Day Express is the official free shuttle service for the FIFA World Cup 2026. It runs roundtrip between four transit hubs and Miami Stadium on every match day — no transfers, no stadium parking, no traffic. It's the recommended option for every fan.
Do I need a match ticket to ride the shuttle?
Yes. A valid FIFA World Cup 2026 match ticket is required to board the Miami Game Day Express shuttle. This applies to everyone — including fans arriving via Brightline, Tri-Rail, or any other transit. A Brightline ticket, Tri-Rail ticket, or transit pass alone will not grant access to the shuttle. Fans without a verified match ticket will not be allowed to board.
Is the shuttle free?
Yes. The Miami Game Day Express is complimentary for all verified ticket holders and operates on every FIFA World Cup 2026 match day.
Where do the official shuttles depart from?
There are four Miami Game Day Express hubs:
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza Metrorail Station — Metrorail Green Line; Metrobus 27/27A and 62; rideshare drop-off zone; no onsite parking
- Golden Glades Multimodal Transit Station — Tri-Rail and multiple Metrobus routes (75/75A, 77, 95/95A, 95B Express, 401 North Owl); paid Park & Ride parking available (event pricing TBD)
- Aventura Brightline Station — direct Brightline access from Orlando, West Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale; paid parking available
- Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino — paid parking at Lot 70
Timing & Boarding
How early should I arrive at the hub?
Fans can begin lining up no earlier than five (5) hours before kickoff. Ticket scanning and boarding begin four (4) hours before kickoff. The first loaded shuttle departs three-and-a-half (3.5) hours before kickoff, and shuttles continue departing as they fill. Earlier arrival means a shorter line.
How often do the shuttles run?
Shuttles run in continuous rotation throughout the pre-match window — they depart as soon as they're full rather than on a fixed schedule. Additional shuttles are dispatched as demand requires.
Are seats reserved?
No. Shuttles operate first-come, first-served. Arrival at a hub does not guarantee a spot on the next shuttle, and the service cannot guarantee a specific arrival time at the stadium. Plan accordingly.
How do I get back to my hub after the match?
Return shuttle service begins immediately after the final whistle and runs continuously until every passenger has been accommodated. Staff at the stadium will direct you to the correct return shuttle for your hub. If you have a connecting Brightline, Tri-Rail, or other train to catch, build in extra time — fans are responsible for making their own onward travel, and missed trains will require a new ticket.
What to Bring (and What Not To)
What can I bring on the shuttle?
Because boarding requires a validated match ticket, shuttles follow Miami Stadium's bag policy.
Allowed:
- Clear plastic bags no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″
- Small bags or fanny packs no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″
- Diaper bags (subject to search)
- Factory-sealed plastic water bottles, 20 oz or less
Not allowed:
- Any bag exceeding the size limits above
- Non-clear bags larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″

hard-rock/stadium-policy
Can I bring a flag or sign?
Yes, within the stadium's flag and sign policy. Flags and signs must be handheld, event-related, and in good taste. They cannot obstruct other fans, stadium signage, or broadcast equipment. They cannot carry commercial or political messages, cannot be attached to poles or sticks, and cannot be made of wood or metal. Items in violation may be confiscated by stadium staff or Miami-Dade County DTPW.
Is the shuttle accessible for guests with disabilities, strollers, or mobility devices?
Yes. The Miami Game Day Express accommodates guests with disabilities, strollers, and mobility devices.
Getting to FIFA Fan Festival™ at Bayfront Park
How do I get to the FIFA Fan Festival in Downtown Miami?
Bayfront Park is most easily reached on the free Metromover, which connects Brickell, Downtown Miami, and the Omni area. The closest Metromover stops are Bayfront Park, First Street, College/Bayside, and College North. All three Metromover loops stop at these stations, but the Inner Loop is the most direct from Government Center.
I'm flying in — how do I get from MIA to Fan Fest?
Take the Metrorail Orange Line from MIA to Government Center, then transfer to the Metromover Inner Loop for Bayfront Park. If you prefer to walk, Bayfront Park is a 15–20 minute walk straight down NE 1st or NE 2nd Street to Biscayne Boulevard.
Will transit run late enough to get home after Fan Fest?
Yes. Metromover service will be extended to midnight for the full duration of Fan Fest (June 13 – July 5). Metrorail already runs until midnight. On three featured match dates — June 23, 25, and 27 — both Metrorail and Metromover will run until 1:00 AM to accommodate larger crowds.
Coming from Outside Miami-Dade
I'm traveling from Orlando, Broward, or Palm Beach. What are my options?
Two main rail services connect into Miami-Dade:
- Brightline — high-speed service between Miami and Orlando with stops in Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach. The Aventura station is an official Miami Game Day Express shuttle hub on match days. MiamiCentral Station is a short walk to the Metromover for Fan Fest. Schedules and tickets at gobrightline.com.
- Tri-Rail — commuter rail serving Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Connect to Metrorail at the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) at MIA, or at MiamiCentral. Tri-Rail also stops at Golden Glades, which is a Miami Game Day Express shuttle hub. Schedules and tickets at tri-rail.com.
Remember: Your Brightline or Tri-Rail ticket gets you to the hub. Your match ticket gets you on the shuttle.
Getting Around Miami-Dade
What other transit options are available for getting around the county?
Miami-Dade has a full multimodal transit network:
- Metrorail — rapid transit linking South Dade to Downtown Miami, MIA, Hialeah, and key locations countywide
- Metromover — free automated people mover serving Downtown, Brickell, Omni, and Bayfront Park
- Metrobus — extensive countywide bus network
- MetroExpress — all-electric Bus Rapid Transit linking South Dade to Metrorail
- MetroConnect — on-demand connector service to Metrorail stations in select areas
- Miami Beach Water Taxi — scenic Biscayne Bay crossing connecting to Metromover at Adrienne Arsht Center
- Bike, walk, and free neighborhood trolleys — for short trips and last-mile connections
How do I plan my trip?
Download any of these free apps to plan routes and track rides in real time: GO Miami-Dade, Citymapper, Transit, Moovit, or SoFloGo.
Paying Your Fare
How do I pay for Metrorail or Metrobus?
You have several options:
- Buy a One-Day Mobile Pass ($5.65) or One-Way Mobile Pass ($2.25) in advance through the GO Miami-Dade app and scan at any QR-equipped fare gate
- Tap to pay at any fare reader with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or contactless Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover
- Use a Ticket Vending Machine at any Metrorail station
- Use a preloaded EASY Card or EASY Ticket
Metromover is free — no fare required.
PArking
Is there parking at the shuttle hubs?
It varies by hub:
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza Metrorail Station — no onsite parking
- Golden Glades Multimodal Transit Station — paid Park & Ride parking (event pricing TBD)
- Aventura Brightline Station — paid parking; details at gobrightline.com
- Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino — paid parking at Lot 70; details at casino.hardrock.com/hollywood
For Fan Festival at Bayfront Park, we strongly recommend Metromover over driving — Downtown parking is limited during the tournament.
